Are there side effects?

Swelling and bruising after lip injections may occur, depending on the individual. Swelling and a general “tight” feeling are common after treatment and may last up to one week.

Some bruising may be seen around the injection site, but it is easily covered with makeup and barely noticeable.

Is there any reason I should not have lip injections?

Lip injections are not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or for patients with an autoimmune disease or a sensitivity to hyaluronic acid or local anesthetic.

How long do lip injections last?

Lip fillers can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months. Dermal fillers in the lips are usually metabolized faster than in other areas of the face, because the lips move so much with eating, drinking and speaking.
