Clinical research

A clinical trial is a special type of clinical study, like an experiment, that investigates the safety and effectiveness of a drug using human volunteers.

All drugs have to pass many phases of clinical trials before a doctor can prescribe them. Clinical trials can only be conducted once they have been reviewed and approved by Health Canada and a local ethics committee.

How do I get involved in a clinical trial?

If you have a skin condition that our dermatologists are investigating, you can reach out to our Research Department to schedule an assessment. If you agree to take part in a clinical trial, you will be asked to attend scheduled visits, take prescribed medication and sometimes answer questions about your health at home.

How do I qualify for a clinical trial?

If you have been diagnosed with one of the conditions below and your regular therapy is not working, or you would like a second opinion, contact our Research Department to schedule an assessment.

  • Atopic dermatitis (eczema)
  • Psoriasis
  • Chronic idiopathic urticaria
  • Hidradenitis suppurativa
  • Prurigo nodularis
